Next week, Love Data Week 2024 will take place, providing the perfect opportunity to familiarize yourself with everything related to research data management (RDM) through numerous lectures, seminars, and workshops. A list of all events in Germany can be found on forschungsdaten.info. Here are a few events that may be of interest and relevance to pharmacy:

Several introductory events on research data management are being offered. For example, directly on Monday from 12:00-12:30 by HeFDI with the title “Introduction to Research Data Management and DFG-requirements (EN),” or on Wednesday at 13:00, a two-hour seminar titled “Forschungsdatenmanagement in Anträgen” (only in German) by the University Library Rostock. The last event on Friday also includes Speed Dating mit dem Forschungsdatenlebenszyklus – für alle, die noch einen Einstieg suchen.

On Thursday, February 15, 2024, Prof. Dr. Matthias Schiedel (Professor of Medical and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at TU Braunschweig) will share his experiences and reasons for introducing an electronic lab notebook (ELN). The Coffee Lecture is in German and will take place online from 13:00 to 13:30, further information and access link are available here.

Electronic lab notebooks play a significant role throughout the week. NFDI4Chem is hosting a hands-on workshop on Chemotion ELN on Wednesday and is available for questions as well as a shorter introduction to ELN on Thursday in a Q&A session. Other ELNs such as eLabFTW and NOMAD Oasis will also be introduced, along with general information on ELNs. More information can be found in the program on forschungsdaten.info.

This is just a small selection of events; there are numerous others covering topics such as data management plans, publishing research data, data visualization, and many other aspects. A look at the program is definitely worthwhile! We wish you a lot of fun!
